S. Lynn Knox Alumni Social Fund

The Dr. S. Lynn Knox Fund for Faculty Social Engagement is established in honor of Dr. Knox, a dedicated anesthesiologist known not only for excellence in patient care but also for their passion for fostering community among colleagues. Donald S. Prough Faculty Award Fund

The Dr. Donald S. Prough Fund for Faculty Excellence is established in tribute to Dr. Prough, a visionary anesthesiologist and former departmental chair renowned for prioritizing faculty development and nurturing talent within the department. This fund is dedicated to recognizing and rewarding faculty members who demonstrate exceptional contributions to their fields, whether through innovative research, outstanding patient care, or exemplary teaching. By supporting initiatives that enhance professional growth and innovative projects, the fund aims to continue Dr. Prough's legacy of fostering excellence, inspiring faculty to reach their full potential while positively impacting the departmental mission of excellence.

Daneshvari Solanki Departmental Improvement Fund

The Departmental Improvement Fund is established to honor Dr. Daneshvari Solanki, a pioneer in acute and chronic pain management who joined the department in 1978. She is remembered as an enthusiastic teacher and staunch supporter of the Anesthesiology Department. As we expand across four campuses, this fund is dedicated to making all department spaces feel like home for our growing number of residents, faculty, and support staff. By donating to this fund, you will bolster the family feel of our department helping us to recruit and retain excellent people and allowing Dr. Solanki's legacy to live on.

Rakesh Vadhera Resident Award Fund

The Dr. Rakesh Vadhera Fund for Resident Excellence in Anesthesiology is established to honor the legacy of Dr. Vadhera, an esteemed obstetric anesthesiologist known for his unwavering dedication to mentorship and his compassionate approach towards residents. Harry K. Wallfisch Departmental Wellness Fund

The Departmental Wellness Fund is established to honor Dr. Harry K. Wallfisch, a fierce leader and excellent clinician who united members of our department both in and out of the hospital. This fund is dedicated to promoting holistic health within our department, ensuring faculty, residents, and support staff have access to resources that support both their physical and mental well-being. These funds will help our department achieve higher levels of wellness, prevent disease, improve relationships, and foster a sense of community.

Lee C. Woodson Medical Student Research Fund

The Medical Student Research Fund is established to honor Dr. Lee C. Woodson, a dedicated researcher and mentor to countless medical students, residents, and faculty. As a testament to our department, each year 20-30 UTMB graduates choose Anesthesiology. As the applicant pool for anesthesiology residency programs grows larger, research experience has become a crucial way for medical students to stand out and improve their chances of matching. This fund will support medical student research, allowing them to demonstrate intellectual curiosity and clinical depth beyond just strong clinical rotations.
