Rene Przkora, MD

Dr. Przkora was born and raised in Germany and graduated with a Medical Degree from the University of Wuerzburg as well as a Doctorate Degree from the University of Bonn. He started his residency in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery after graduation and continued for 4 years before he enrolled in a Research Fellowship in Basic and Clinical Science at the Shriners Hospital and the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Following his interests, he matched into the Anesthesiology Residency Program of the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida and graduated in 2010. Based on his experience in Orthopedics and Anesthesiology, he joined the Pain Medicine Fellowship Program of the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Przkora joined our Department after completion of his Pain Medicine Fellowship as Assistant Professor. In addition to his clinical and educational responsibilities, Dr. Przkora is active in several functions including the Assistant Pain Medicine Fellowship Director as well as the Faculty Advisor for the Anesthesiology Student Club. Next to mentoring our residents, he is also active in research with over 35 publications listed in Pubmed.

He is interested in simulation with special focus on crisis management in interventional pain medicine and became member of the simulator team in 2012.
