My labs focus is on stem cell therapy for organ regeneration and model system development. We are also col-laborating with Dr. Prough on the use of peripheral blood stem cells on the treatement of traumatic brain injury. We have also begun to characyterize pro-genitor stem cells in different organs (lungs, skin, kidney, heart and bone mar-row). We have also focused on developing an ex vivo human immune system utilizing different stem cells and biopolymers. Our overall expertise focuses on stem cell delivery and regeneration of tissue for possible stem cell therapies. As part of this emphasisis we are utilizing different biomaterials as either supportive adjuvants to cells or as possible carriers.
